I had you in my class for a very short time. i told your grandma that the week you were in my class was the week i had been having tests for some cysts that turned our to be kidney cancer! I actually though to myself that if i ever had cancer i would want to handle it like you! i had never thought i actually had cancer at the time. the whole week i enjoyed you so much in our class and was so awed by your brave attitude and wonderful enthusiasm in our room. you were a light sent to me from heaven, and i thought of your bravery 3 weeks later when my tumors and left kidney were removed.thanks for the inspiration! keep strong and i send my love and positive thoughts to you and family. ps:i am walking in the relay for life as a 2 year cancer survivor on sat. i wish you could walk with us, but i am going to carry your newspaper article with me as i walk around the track. and i am decorating a lumunaria bag in your honor with lots of pink lettering on it!!!!!!!!

Heck yeah it was your last day having cancer. From now on there's no more getting sicker. It's all about getting stronger. Cancer is now clearly behind you, and each day it just gets further away. You are the definition of "survivor."
Your strength continues to be an inspiration, and in the very near future when I have to head to UCLA for my heart transplant, I hope you don't mind, but I plan to borrow a little of your bravery to use for myself. And if you're still at UCLA, maybe we can meet up in the cafeteria and tell our war stories. Carrie and I will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers, and as soon as we're allowed, we'll come to visit.

Hey Miss Cookie Wookie - I have just finished making two BIG pots of spaghetti sauce (one for dinner tonight and one to freeze for my famous lasagna!) anyway, the first pot is going over to Parker, Shannon, and GrandCookie for dinner (and to take some up to UCLA for your Mom & Dad). I learned how to make it from Aunt Kim McConnon, who learned the recipe from Tommy DeRico's Mom about 30 years ago! We are teaching Monica how to make it too and when you come home, you can be the "judge" to see if it's as good as your Grandmother makes.... I know that you are feeling a little better; each day will be a little easier and before you know it, you'll be home again, ready to PARTY! Hi Chocolate Chip, Sorry I haven't talked to you since Christmas. It has been a busy time. We went to El Centro and worked the New Years Eve race. Came home and got ready to go to Laughlin to pit for Randy and Kelly at the Laughlin Desert Classic. Came home from that and went to set up a course and work an MDR race in Barstow.
Well, I guess I hit the wrong key. Our truck has transmission problems, and Ford cannot take it until 2/14. We will miss another race in El Centro, but should be ready to go to San Felipe, Mexico to pit for Randy and Kelly in March. It was good to hear you are still heading towards the positive goal. I had you in my class for a very short time. i told your grandma that the week you were in my class was the week i had been having tests for some cysts that turned our to be kidney cancer! I actually though to myself that if i ever had cancer i would want to handle it like you! i had never thought i actually had cancer at the time.
the whole week i enjoyed you so much in our class and was so awed by your brave attitude and wonderful enthusiasm in our room. you were a light sent to me from heaven, and i thought of your bravery 3 weeks later when my tumors and left kidney were removed.thanks for the inspiration!

Heck yeah it was your last day having cancer. From now on there's no more getting sicker. It's all about getting stronger. Cancer is now clearly behind you, and each day it just gets further away. You are the definition of "survivor."
Your strength continues to be an inspiration, and in the very near future when I have to head to UCLA for my heart transplant, I hope you don't mind, but I plan to borrow a little of your bravery to use for myself. And if you're still at UCLA, maybe we can meet up in the cafeteria and tell our war stories. Hey Miss Cookie Wookie - I have just finished making two BIG pots of spaghetti sauce (one for dinner tonight and one to freeze for my famous lasagna!) anyway, the first pot is going over to Parker, Shannon, and GrandCookie for dinner (and to take some up to UCLA for your Mom & Dad). I learned how to make it from Aunt Kim McConnon, who learned the recipe from Tommy DeRico's Mom about 30 years ago! We are teaching Monica how to make it too and when you come home, you can be the "judge" to see if it's as good as your Grandmother makes....
I know that you are feeling a little better; each day will be a little easier and before you know it, you'll be home again, ready to PARTY!

i just got in the house from walking my cat!!!! i trained him how to walk on a leash just like a dog, and the neighbors all think i have gone nuts!!!!:) thought you'd get a kick out of that!

I am so excited to hear the good news, those counts are coming up! Pretty soon Cavin and I will be able to come and visit you at home! Sorry I haven't talked to you since Christmas. It has been a busy time. We went to El Centro and worked the New Years Eve race. Came home and got ready to go to Laughlin to pit for Randy and Kelly at the Laughlin Desert Classic. Came home from that and went to set up a course and work an MDR race in Barstow.
Well, I guess I hit the wrong key. Our truck has transmission problems, and Ford cannot take it until 2/14. We will miss another race in El Centro, but should be ready to go to San Felipe, Mexico to pit for Randy and Kelly in March.
It was good to hear you are still heading towards the positive goal. I love your hair. You are so pretty. (that is with or without hair.)
